New Year
Has a new year started already? I bet I could have never told the difference had it not been for the new calendars replacing old ones in my home. Of course, I admit January 1 is special as compared to the rest of its 364 similitude. It’s a day when new vows and resolutions are laid down, when you find all family restaurants and picnic spots smothered by large crowds, a day exclusively for midnight messages (that often get stuck in the choked cellular network) and pouring phone calls from far flung relatives. Except for the kick-off day of the year, rest of the days are normally wrapped in routine modus operandi, in such a manner that 2009 or 2010, life is the same unless you have a strict resolution reminding you at every point that a New Year has been ushered in.
